Steed 5 Is A Robust-looking Machine

Handsome, isn’t it? The Steed 5 looks good. End of story. From the sporty grille to its masculine and toned contours, the Steed 5 is a robust-looking machine. But do not be fooled: this attractive leisure vehicle is also a hard worker, and can handle a one-tonne load with ease. To help you secure your load, whether it’s the weekend’s camping or mountain biking gear, the Steed 5 comes with several tie-down points. Double insulation protects the load bin against the heaviest loads you can throw its way.

Power and Economy

2.2 Litre Petrol Engine

The Steed 5 Double Cab is offered with a range of two engines, catering for a wide variety of needs. The entry level model is powered by GWM’s proven 2,2-litre petrol engine that develops 73 kW and 180 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The combined-cycle fuel consumption figure for this model is an economical 10,2 L/100 km.

2.0 Litre VGT

And last, but not least, is GWM’s very popular and in-house developed 2,0-litre VGT (variable geometry turbo) diesel power plant that punches out a strong 110 kW and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is exclusively mated with a six-speed manual transmission and the 2,0-litre VGT engine boasts exceptionally low fuel consumption of only 8,3 L/100 km. The Workhorse has been designed to tackle challenges head-on, so leave the hard work to the new Steed 5 Facelift.

GWM has equipped the Steed 5 Double Cab 2,0-litre VGT turbodiesel models with a comprehensive safety package that includes dual front airbags and ABS with EBD, central locking and an immobiliser are standard fitment.

A neat padded centre armrest doubles as a large storage box between the seats. All models feature a heated rear window, power steering, synthetic leather upholstery, air-conditioning, electric windows and a radio/CD audio system (with USB support).
